Four generations of innovative sign making.

At New Century Signs, sign making has been a family affair for almost a century. Chris Jeans, owner of New Century Signs can remember hearing stories about his grandfather, Pearley, who started the family sign making business, “Jean’s Signs” back in 1928, in Sydney Nova Scotia. With six boys and one girl in the family, a few of the children were bound to get caught up in the family business, where the family, including Chris’ father Bill, helped their father silkscreen and paint signs.

During his high school years, Chris began working, with his uncle Al, at  A. Jeans Signs, in Dartmouth in 1989. By 1993, Chris, formed New Century Signs and worked out of his father’s basement. Just 22 years old at the time, Chris worked and grew his small company organically, producing quality signage for a growing customer base. Today, New Century Signs is one of Atlantic Canada’s leading sign makers and installers. Our loyal and satisfied customers always come back to work with us because they can entrust us with their most valuable visual asset.

The 4th generation of Jeans is already immersed in New Century Signs as three of Chris’ sons bring their own skillsets, experience, and dedication to this well respected family business and its continued success in Atlantic Canada, and beyond.
